Buddi

What is Buddi?

Buddi is a personal finance and budgeting program, aimed at those who have little or no financial background. It is an open-source Java desktop application, supporting Windows, Macintosh OS X, Linux, and many other operating systems. Its functionality is very similar to PerfiTrak, with a few extra bells and whistles like numerous charts and graphs and various import and export plugins.

How do I use Buddi with PerfiTrak?

First, download Buddi and install it. Next, download the PerfiTrak Sync plugin (link below), extract it somewhere, and open Buddi and point it to where you extracted the plugin (instructions here). Then, open the main Buddi window and go to File -> Synchronize -> PerfiTrak. Now just input your OpenID and passcode (found here; NOT your OpenID password!) and click "Sync", and all your transactions, accounts, tags/categories, and budgets will now be the same in both PerfiTrak and Buddi. Note that the synchronization is a manual operation, meaning you will have to do "Sync" every time you change something in one app and want it visible in the other.
